Gen. Zinni Takes Full-Time Position With DynCorp
DynCorp International, one of the largest U.S. contractors in Iraq, said today that retired Marine Gen. Anthony C. Zinni has resigned from its board to take a full-time position with the Falls Church company, which provides security and police training services to the government. He will serve as an as executive vice president, overseeing the company’s business development and strategy, the company said in a statement. Zinni, 63, retired from the Marine Corps in 2000 after 39 years of service that included a three-year stint as head of U.S. Central Command. He also served as U.S. envoy to the Middle East under former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
“I am extremely pleased that Tony Zinni has agreed to assume a full-time position with our company,” DynCorp chief executive Herb Lanese said in a statement. “During the last 10 months, he’s served as a senior adviser to DynCorp International, helping us build relationships with key leaders throughout the world and develop new business opportunities. His valuable insights and his notable experience in the Middle East have made him a trusted friend and adviser.” #
