Latest Hagee Eruption: Antichrist Will Be Partly Jewish & Gay

Pastor John Hagee heads a megachurch and was sought out for his endorsement in the presidential race. He ended up with John McCain, who openly embraced the cleric, until late last month, when it came out that Hagee had said that the Holocaust was necessary (and even, in the end therefore, not so bad) to establish the State of Israel.
Now The Nation’s Max Blumenthal has unearthed another controversial stance. He reports that Hagee once described the Antichrist as being part-Jewish and gay.
The pronouncement occurred on March 16, 2003, on the eve of President George Bush’s invasion of Iraq. In a sermon titled “The Final Dictator,” Hagee told his huge congregation that the Antichrist, mentioned in the Book of Revelation as presaging Christ’s Second Coming and the Endtimes, will be “a blasphemer and a homosexual. There’s a phrase in Scripture used solely to identify the Jewish people. It suggests that this man [the Antichrist] is at least going to be partially Jewish, as was Adolph Hitler, as was Karl Marx.”
Both Joseph Lieberman, senator from Connecticut, and Elliott Engel, a Democratic representative from the Bronx, had planned to speak at a summit organized and headed by Hagee. Both men are Jewish and declined to respond to Blumenthal’s request for comment on this latest discovery.
